My Wonderful Italy Trip

At last, after so many days of planning and fighting over plan issues We hit Italy with our hearts beating loud. It is the great feeling of landing in the country full of ancient structures and culture.

The Romans !!!!!

Seeing Rome aka Roma with my own eyes is the happiest moment after all. Though Italy has many famous cities sitting in its boundary, but Roma is the biggest of all..... (not talking abt the size :) )

We were imagining how Roma will be, how the people will be, How much we can see and what all we shud see to make our trip memorable. With all the weird feelings and thoughts we reach Roma.

Gosh!! the train station of Roma was so huge and crowdy....
We then start exploring Roma, and get amazed with all the ancient structures. Standing in roman forum and imagining all the centuries when they ruled and all those important people of the old world walked on the same ground where I am standing now.... Its the greatest feeling.

The roman republic, roman empire, Catholics, Roman Kings, Mussolini and finally a modern republic ....
Rome has seen it all and I am in the heart of old roman empire.
I wish if i can go back in those times and see the gladiators and their games in Colosseum. Those people lived a great? life after all.

The Venice, the Lovers city... The climate was good. The Rialto bridge , full market place. People selling the Masks, gift items. Murano island, burano islands and so many of them..... And each place so wonderful. With so much to see and little time, we enjoyed every second we spend in Venice. The piazza San Marco , the Grand canal Ride.. Everything is so perfect to spend the day with joy. The Vaporetto card (water taxi) does the magic. You can travel every where with this card. The whole place seems so big when you are on a water taxi. The sinking city actually appears sinking.... and with that you also sinks in your deep thoughts ( this is what venezia is ....)

The Firenze, the Tuscan region. The way from Venice to firenze was beautiful , seeing greenery everywhere, the tunnels we passed through. I remembered my young days when my bro and me used to shout when train passes through any tunnel... Those days were more fun....
Firenze santa maria Novella is the station we landed. And it was fully crowded. I am still in my dreams of being in Italy ..... The whole city is kinda in renovating mood. The Duomo in firenze, the bapistry near it, the heavy traffic around it, the great pizza stores nearby... It make you feel like a tourist again. neways thats what you are too...
The Long queue for the Ufizi gallery... the Ponte Vecchio bridge ,lined with jewelry shops, crosses the Arno River and was built in 1345 by Taddeo Gaddi.... And the designs there .... The Pitti palace...

And most important is the ... Piazzale Michelangelo... The panaromic view of the Florence City from this hill-top... And another thing that makes this place wonder ful is the Statue of David by Michelangelo .. Duplicate offcoure.... (Original in Galleria Dell'accademia -- Museum, we skip as we do not have much time)

The Pisa, the place for one of the seven wonders of world. Pisa is a small town with tourists around one place only, the Campo dei Miracoli
square, where the leaning tower resides. The place also includes the Cathedral so beautiful inside( Galileo is believed to have formulated his theory about the movement of PENDULUM by watching the swinging of the incense lamp (not the present one) hanging from ceiling of the nave in here.) , the bapistry, a museum and the cemetery(The Camposanto) where resides most of the wealthy Pisans.... The picture here shows Bapistry first , then the Cathedral and the last but not the least The Leaning tower....

The Milano, the high-fi city of Italy. I still cannot believe the detailed carving done at the Milano cathedral(Duomo). How much money and time these people put in, to live with such high and rich structures. It is amazing. Standing in that big square ,watching the tourists clicking pictures and the feeling of being in Italy.

Near the square is the Famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II ( named after first king of United Italy Vittorio Emanuele II) - Glass topped shopping complex where you can find luxury shops of all the famous and executive brands of the world. Next famous place to visit is The Safroza castle, which housed city's mueums and the art gallery collection. Another place to visit in Milan is the Basilica Sant' Ambrogio, dating from 11th century and is one of the oldest church in Milan and considered a fine example of Lombard - Romanesque architecture.

Seeing any other place after Rome is plus point of the whole trip. We spend 2 days and 1 night in Rome. But I think Rome needs at least 3 days and 2 nights, to capture the whole of the ancient history living there. I do put the coin in the Trevi Fountain and am hoping to go back to Rome to enjoy the history again and this time quite deeply.

So here is the trip I enjoyed the most and sharing the moments with all of you out there.

P.S. If some one wants advice ( hotels, place to visit, etc ...) on the trip, do ask freely. I will be more than happy to share the information.
